A salute to brilliant service
I would like to use this opportunity to thank Mr. Harris and Nigus Properties for their exemplary service during the recent visit of my mother to Nigeria. They afforded me the ability to substitute accommodation arrangements with a personal car and chauffeur service.
Nigus demonstrated what customer service is all about. Considering her trip came up on short notice and we did not give them adequate time to sort out her accommodation or transportation arrangements, they did not complain about our demands but took it to task to ensure that our requests were met.
From the arrival to the international airport in Lagos, Nigeria to her departure, their transportation service was nothing short of professional. In fact, family members where wondering ‘where and how’ she got these services, to which we credited Nigus for making all of this possible.
They followed up with me even while she was still in Nigeria to make sure that everything was going well; furthermore, they were ready to make necessary changes to ensure her comfort was constantly met.
Without this service my mother's trip to Nigeria would have been chaotic, but with Nigus, it made her travel simple and easier.
Being a part of Nigus is definitely a worth-while investment especially if you expect to receive excellent all around service while in Nigeria.

SO YOU ARE GOING TO NIGERIA?
Nigeria continues to grow as an international destination for investors and tourists alike and year on year from 2000; the economy is becoming more diversified as part of the nation to lessen the solitary dependence on petroleum.
Agricultural, Construction, Real Estate, Banking and Finance sectors are particular areas of growth and tailing the increased activities in the county is a steady growth in the number of those who are visiting the country for commercial and private reasons.
There is also a significant number of Nigerians who though are based abroad visit the country on a regularly basis, some making as many as fortnightly return trips.
Growth of course comes with several upsides – increase in employment, balance of trade and a marked improvement in the country’s economic profile.
However the infrastructures/facilities/attractions are yet to match visitors numbers, provisions for hotels, restaurants and other hospitality ventures are not only meager but they are predominantly located on Lagos Island and offer limited variety.
So how does this affect your stay in Nigeria? The good news is that if your company has a slush fund for hotel expenses, you can be assured of a world class service from the likes of Sheraton, Eko Hotel, Raddison Edwards – familiar names definitely but taking advantage of them comes at a premium, I suppose you shouldn’t be unduly worried if you are lucky to work for a multinational with annual budget the size of a dozen countries in the not-so-endowed part of the world.
However if your company has a normal budget, the cost of your stay at Eko Hotel or Sheraton might just be the final straw that tip them into receivership in these ominously challenging times so if you are keen to endear yourself to your Finance Department and remain employed, you have to be inventive and a cautionary note, forget budget chains, they are not much help either, the genre of that particular market operates peculiarly in the Nigeria.
It is almost as if they have mastered the art of ostentatious pricing which is the hallmark of ‘my-own-is- bigger-than-yours’ syndrome that pumps up the fledgling middle class who are happy to pay over the top just so they can boastfully flaunt their distinctiveness the higher they are charged.
But the subject of this write up is not the bane of the middle class or stupidity of money-miss-road so musn’t digress, so back to the subject matter of where to lay your weary head and safeguard you possessions in Nigeria.
A popular option if you have Nigerian roots is to take advantage is staying with friends and family but herein lies the problem, this option remains as attractive as a double edged sword and may end up landing you with a pricier tag and this is minus lack of privacy, outrageous demands for visa invitations, harrowing tales of urgent need for assistance with new car, new suit, settling medical bill or even starting a business and this is not including the gifts you spend hours getting from your base as part of your strategy to secure a - Warm welcome

Hurricane Ike and Nigus Properties
We’re about three weeks after Hurricane Ike and we’re fully back to normal at our corporate head office in Houston.
Most of our employees stayed through the storm and hung out with friends. Even though, one of our executives had some major damage at their residence, all in all, it was a good decision for us all. Our office was out of power for a whole week after the hurricane. Therefore, we had to conduct our official business from our residence or anywhere else where we were able to find power and internet access.
